There's Only One Solution. Will You Make It?

There is only one solution to improving one's financial condition, particularly, in today's economy. It is not budgeting, it is not saving, and it is not investing. Well, investing perhaps, but that requires two things. 1. You must have the money to invest and 2. You mut be knowledgeable of the particular vehicle(s) and programs in which you intend to invest.

I have tried budgeting on many occasions throughout my adult life but besides providing a way to track my expenses, I have never been able to live within my budget. I agree that may have mainly been due to a lack of discipline on my part, but I also know that had I stayed within budget, the money left over for saving and investing would not have served me that well. In regard to saving, I just never have had the discipline and just as important with high inflation rates during most of my adult life the little bit I might have been able to save would have been of little consequence. In regard to investing, I have made substantial investments in real estate and until recently did relatively well. However, with the recent real estate bust over the last several years and no substantial recovery projected for the near future, I am very pessimistic in investing more in this arena.

So what is the solution. My job, well not for me because I am retired after a 35 year career in hospital administration. But with the real threat of cuts in Social Security, Medicare and cut backs in pension funds, I am not relying on those sources to assure even a comfortable retirement much less than a life of time and financial freedom and joy I had hoped for in my retirement. It is curious to me how people think they can continue to depend on their jobs, 401K's etc. to be secure financially for the foreseeable future, particularly given the unemployment and underemployment rates.

There is only one solution. It is finding a means in addition to one's job for generating income and not only generating it but generating more and more of it as time goes on. That solution is having your own business. It is absolutely the case that the only way for the average person to generate the kind of money they are going to need is to partner with a network marketing company. Robert Kiyosaki and others call it the business of the 21st century. Warren Buffet and Donald Trump are prominent figures that also point to network marketing being an attractive revenue generator.

Do You Really Have Better Things To Do Than Listen to My Business Opportunity?

Do people really have better things to do than to speak with me or at least watch a 5 minute business presentation about the business opportunity I want to share with them? Of course they do. I should know, because I have better things to do in most instances than to listen or watch someone else's 20 minute business presentation video of their opportunity.

But what do you do, if you believe or think you have the best business opportunity on the planet and you want to share it with everyone you know and everyone you do not know. I mean really, suppose you sincerely believe you have the best opportunity available today, how do you get it in front of the most people? I know, in network marketing they talk about the numbers game. That is sharing one's opportunity with the most people you can with the expectation that one or two people will at least take a look. I am sure this works.

As an alternative, what if I could find a way to introduce the opportunity and make people aware of it while somehow removing myself from the equation so they come across it on their own not knowing I am personally involved. Nah, I do not like that. That generally requires some form of advertising which is quite expensive. I think it may be about somehow finding the people who are looking for the opportunity I have or at least one similar. But then, then again, how do you do that except for advertising?

I look at my own buying habits. I am wondering what can I learn from the purchases I made in the last two days. I just happened to take my daughter out for a walk yesterday and with nothing else to do we walk into an J&M Department store and went to the children's section. I saw a pair of pink winter boots for her I liked but could not find her size. Then I saw a lady looking at another pair of pink boots which I liked better. I bought them.  I then when to Starbucks and bought a Caramel Machiotto. Today, I again went out to go for a swim and later decided I did not feel like it. So I ended up at Starbucks again and bought another Caramel Macchiato. Then, realizing I had had little to eat, I went to a restaurant and ordered a hamburger and had two glasses of wine.

What was it that caused me to make those purchases? I would say in the first instance it was just satisfying my desire to get something for my daughter. I think the machiatto was also about satisfying my desire and certainly the hamburger and wine it was certainly that as well.

So, perhaps to be most successful in having people listen to me or watch my business presentation is to find a way to bring satisfaction to my potential business partners and customers; and the more immediate that satisfaction the better.  Pretty Obvious I Guess.  However, I have not found that magic immediacy.

I feel I may be rambling a bit here so I am going to stop with the intent to find ways to bring that immediate satisfaction to my business offerings. Any ideas?

Network Marketing May Not Be For You

Scott Allen, writes an excellent article on the reasons Network Marketing/MLM's frequently are perceived as being "fly by night" business schemes, illegal or worse while so many people find extraordinary success in the industry.

One of my best friends, actually a former college roommate called me yesterday following up a call I made introducing him to my network marketing company. The first words out of his mouth was something like isn't there a lot of weird stuff I am hearing out there about these multi-level companies. The answer to his question is a resounding yes AND there are some good reasons why AND there are many misunderstandings and misrepresentations about the industry, the companies and the people who work in them.

I believe Mr. Allen's article will help people who are considering network marketing as a viable income opportunity as well as people inside the industry to better understand people's objections and concerns about it. My BIG MLM Breakthrough

This weekend I attended the annual meeting of my network marketing company.

My experience was transformational. It happened over a period of time. In fact it started on the plane ride down to Dallas, Texas where we met. In speaking with one of my high performance business partners on the plane, I believe unknowingly to him, he got me to see that I had been making my business ALL about me. My focus has been on my making money, period.

It became clear to me throughout the weekend that I have been giving little if any attention to the people I have been attempting to recruit and their dreams, desires and challenges. I have not been present with them because of my overwhelming self-interests.

I now know my business, in fact this industry is first and foremost about assisting others with their dreams. I am convinced if I do that well, I will be helping people and in the process I will be helping myself as well.

My dream, Is A World That Works For All. I am achieving it by assisting people enhance their personal wealth and expand communication world-wide.

Network marketing is an extraordinary vehicle for personal growth and empowerment. I believe it may become the ONE ingredient that will make this world a better place for all. It already has in my view.

Thank You For Reading My Blog

"In order to create the life that you desire for yourself and for all others, some big things need to be done. Yet, the good news is that it takes but little things to do them.

A smile. A touch. A laugh. A decision to forgive. A willingness to share.
An ability to cry---and to hear the crying of others.
A love for life. A trust in God. An acceptance of each other.
A choice to live as one.
A determination to dare."

Are You A Leader?

There are many stories about people achieving various levels of success in network marketing. Some network marketers during the course of their business, recruit one or two leaders who benefit from them building their business. That scenario, however, mostly occurs by luck and happens infrequently; at least compared to leaders in the business.

It has taken me sometime to learn this truth in building my network marketing business. I had always heard about leaders in my MLM, however I did not understand how being a leader myself was critical to my success and the success of others. After more than 5 years in the industry, I now know my success is dependent on my being a leader and that includes helping others to become leaders themselves. Leadership is the crux of the business. Recruiting is essential in getting started but it is really secondary to leadership once one has a number of people with whom to work. The other aspect of matter is network marketers really have an almost moral responsibility to help their recruits become leaders. Not doing so, sets them up for failure.

Unlike a traditional business, network marketers cannot rely on their boss to tell and direct them what to do. In fact, there is no boss. Each network marketer sits in his own driver's seat and like my mentor frequently says they must look frequently in the mirror, and realize to extent their business is not working, therein lies the solution.
