This was a profound learning for me. I got off the phone this morning with a gentleman who called me about my business building system at World Community Marketing. He was clearly interested in the system. However, I found myself diverting the conversation to discuss my primary business. I felt a little uncomfortable pushing my interest, and although I was trying to be careful and polite, the conversation quickly changed to my interest rather than his. When I got off the phone, I know I had my focus more on me than on him and it did not make me feel good. My mentor Ester Hicks certainly as been teaching me different and puts it this way;
"If you will release all concern about how others feel about you, and focus only upon how you feel about them, you will unearth your core understanding of who-you-really-are, and you will discover what true freedom really is."
It is funny how the world works. Immediately after my conversation, I received an email from Tim Sales, one of the top network marketing trainers in the world. He included a video in which the primary message for network marketers is to be interested in people first until they express an interest in you and what you may have to offer them. And in most instances, what you want to be able to offer is some information, training or education that can benefit them, and I do not mean your products or services you might be selling in your business. That comes later for sure if you are being authentic and are focusing on the person to with whom you are speaking.
